With Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) capabilities and wheelchair service, Universal Ambulance Service, Inc. has the necessary equipment to handle the needs of any patient.
We offer Rhode Island's only fully equipped unit with an on-board respirator supported by a licensed registered respiratory therapist.
Wheelchair Vans
In addition to the state's largest garaged fleet of vehicles, Universal Ambulance was the first in Rhode Island to add wheelchair vans to our team. These specially equipped vans allow us to care for more people, safely bringing them to their doctor's office, hospital or medical appointment.

At Universal Ambulance Service, we recognize that the service we provide is only as good as the people we have working for us. Which is why we put a premium on providing patient service that is second to none. Our professionally trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTC's), including cardiac certified and licensed by the RI Department of Health, Division of Emergency Services, and their backgrounds are scrutinized to ensure they meet our strict requirements. We have also implemented a quality assurance program to continuously monitor the service we provide patients and their families.
Other Services
Northeast Oxygen ServicesIn an effort to provide our patients with access to comprehensive care, we have teamed with Northeast Oxygen Services for medical oxygen services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Northeast has been meeting the needs of nursing homes, residential facilities and private patients for years and, as a Medicare and Medicaid provider, offers a full line of oxygen products. This includes concentrators, M tanks, E tanks, nebulizers, portable suction units and IPPB machines. In fact, Northeast Oxygen routinely provides back up service to every private patient for any situation. Just another sign of their commitment to quality care.
Northeast Oxygen Service technicians are readily available and trained to service all equipment ensure that all oxygen orders are properly handled.
